Irish broadband and telecoms provider Digiweb is said to be considering further acquisitions in the coming year to enable it to expand locally and overseas, siliconrepublic.com reports. Digiweb CEO Colm Piercy is on record as saying his firm is looking to follow up its April 2008 purchase of hosting firm Novara with more acquisitions ‘specifically … in the hosting, voice and broadband areas, but mostly in the hosting and voice’ segments. Piercy also said the operator’s nationwide wireless broadband network rollout is continuing apace and at present covers 65% of the country. ‘Ultimately, our mobile network will cover 83% of the country by the end of 2009,’ he said. Elsewhere, Digiweb is looking to expand its activities in Northern Ireland where it is already deploying services. The operator also holds concessions to offer wireless services in Iceland, Finland, the UK and Norway.
