18 Jun 2008

European network provider TDF, which delivers services to broadcasters and telecoms operators, has selected Motorola to supply it with 802.16e WiMAX networks for several regions in France where HDRR, a TDF subsidiary, holds WiMAX frequency licences. The US vendor has been awarded the three-year frame agreement following a successful pilot trial at the end of 2006 that saw deployments in the regions of Loiret, Sarthe and Limousin. TDF and its affiliates, including local government agencies, deliver wholesale broadband services to retail internet service providers (ISPs) which in turn provide broadband data as well VoIP services to business and residential users.
