Singaporean mobile operator StarHub has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with NTT DoCoMo of Japan to bring the latter’s Osaifu-Keitai mobile wallet concept to Singapore. StarHub said the island-state would be the first outside of Japan to conduct the pilot test. Osaifu-Keitai means mobile wallet in Japanese. It is a trademark of DoCoMo, which launched the service in July 2004, whereby the mobile phone is integrated with a contact-less chip to offer mobile payment and transaction services.
