SingTel holds talks with Chinese telcos

17 Jun 2008

Southeast Asia’s largest telecoms firm by subscribers, Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), is rumoured to be holding talks with as yet unnamed Chinese telecoms operators, as it looks to secure a foothold in the world’s biggest telecoms market. With the Chinese authorities currently in the process of reforming the sector and opening it up to foreign investors, SingTel has confirmed it is monitoring the market and has held ‘discussions with various operators in the China market.’
