South Korean telecoms IT service provider POSDATA has been selected to supply its mobile WiMAX equipment to Super-iMAX, an Uzbeki telecoms provider. Last October, fellow Korean firm KT Corporation acquired Super-iMAX which owns licences to offer wireless internet and broadband services using the 2.3GHz spectrum range. Super-iMAX expects to begin offering commercial services in September 2008 around the capital Tashkent, and aims to eventually expand its services nationwide. Under the terms of the deal POSDATA will provide mobile WiMAX base stations, network management systems, as well as end user terminals.
