Tariff consultation

12 Jun 2008

The Romanian regulator ANRCTI has launched a public consultation on its draft decision on the annual fees that will be paid by the winners of the 3600MHz-3800MHz and 410MHz-415MHz/420MHz-425MHz spectrum licences for wireless broadband services. ANRCTI has proposed an annual tariff for the use of the radio spectrum within the 3.6GHz-3.8GHz band of EUR600,000/channel (USD930,030) while the suggested price for a 1.25MHz national radio channel within the 400MHz bands is EUR650,000/channel.

ANRCTI will issue two licences for the use of radio frequencies within the 3600MHz-3800MHz band, each of them providing for the allocation of one 28MHz channel, at the national level and a single three-channel licence in the 400MHz bands. The deadline for the submission of offers is 4 August 2008 with a decision expected to be made in September.
