Brazilian telco Sercomtel is forecasting a 5%-6% rise in subscribers this year, driven by a new tie-up with pay-TV services provider FlexTV which allows it to offer bundled services with channels included free of charge, Sercomtel president Gabriel Ribeiro de Campos told BNamericas. Under the deal, residential users in Londrina, Parana state, will be given free access to pay-TV channels when they take out one of the three bundled offers – including fixed and mobile telephony and broadband internet access – it is promoting. ‘With the advent of convergence, the more complete you are, the more chances you have in keeping your customer loyal. Last year we raised our customer base 10% and this year with the quadruple play offer we believe we can boost it another 5%-6%,’ Campos said. Prices for the service start from BRL158 (USD97) per month and customers wishing to take the option are committed to a minimum one-year contract.
