ETB to launch WiMAX this year

Bogota-based telco ETB expects to deploy WiMAX technology to offer wireless broadband services nationwide, writes BNamericas. The operator currently offers broadband services in 22 cities using pre-WiMAX technology. According to Commercial Vice President Isam Hauchar, ‘In an initial phase we will launch WiMAX services in the cities of Barranquilla, Cali and Medellin… to provide access to higher speed broadband services for subscribers.’
