Vodafone introduces cut-price local call package

10 Jun 2008

Vodafone is continuing its assault on rival Telecom New Zealand’s dominant position in the fixed line market, slashing the cost of home phone costs by up to 40% with the introduction of a new local calling plan. Vodafone customers will pay NZD25 (USD19.28) a month for unlimited local calls, offering significant savings over Telecom’s anytime plan, NZHerald reports. The new tariff is part of Vodafone’s push into the wireline sector, with the operator announcing the launch of its fixed broadband network in Auckland last week, with deployments in other major cities to follow.
