Cellcos say mobile TV is on the horizon, pending rule change

Argentina’s mobile operators are confident they will be able to launch mobile TV in the medium term, on the proviso that the telecoms rules are amended to allow telcos to offer broadcast services, BNamericas quotes executives from a number of Argentinean players as saying. Under current regulations, fixed line telcos and mobile operators are prohibited from offering broadcasting services. However, a new telecommunications law being studied by the government could modify the scenario in the medium term.
