Vodafone Italia has launched a new broadband switch/router which extends Wi-Fi coverage throughout the home and also offers connectivity for 3G mobile phones. The firm’s Station product is used with ADSL2+ fixed broadband connections and delivers 3G connectivity to Vodafone’s wireless network via a USB link, FierceTelecom reports. Vodafone is increasingly looking beyond its traditional sphere of cellular communications and expanding its business to incorporate converged fixed-mobile products. The Station router has been developed in cooperation with Huawei of China.
