The Ministry of Communications has unveiled its National Plan for Information Technologies and Communications (PNTIC). According to a press release on the watchdog’s web site, the plan – which covers the period 2008-2010 – aims to increase the percentage of: municipalities with broadband connections to 70% from the current level of 43.4%; households with broadband connections from 18% to 40%; and primary schools with broadband connections from 19.8% to 54.8%. COP1.5 billion (USD880 million) has been assigned to the project.
