Quoting local paper El Comercio, BNamericas states that Telmex Peru expects to launch a triple-play offering in the first week of June. The service, dubbed ‘Super Pack’, is being tested in the Magdalena and San Miguel districts, and includes voice services called Telmex Voz, broadband connections up to 500kbps via Telmex Infinitum, and cable TV referred to as Telmex TV. The package will cost PEN188 (USD65) per month. According to the report, Telmex also is studying the possibility of offering cable TV services nationwide through both fibre-optic and satellite technology. Local fixed line operator Telefonica del Peru launched triple-play last August. Some observers claim the bundled offerings from the two operators are not ‘true’ triple play as they are simply a combined package using different delivery platforms, rather than using converged technology.
