Bandwidth resale bonanza

30 May 2008

The Telecom Commission, the policy making body of the Department of Telecom (DoT), has given its approval for allowing an unlimited number of bandwidth resellers, reports The Hindu Business Line. The move is set to benefit consumers who use large amounts of bandwidth, such as IT companies and ISPs who will be able to buy bandwidth from resellers at lower costs. However, the DoT will also impose a licence fee on the resellers, amounting to 6% of their annual revenues.
