Indosat’s Satelindo inaugurates HSPA network

Indonesian telecoms group PT Indosat has introduced 3.5G HSPA-based services on its Satelindo mobile network, offering downlink speeds of up to 14.4Mbps (theoretical) and a maximum uplink speed of 1.4Mbps. ‘Indosat introduced the 3.5G broadband service, a higher data access speed for downlink and uplink data, saving a great deal of time in data communications and Internet browsing,’ Antara News quotes Indosat marketing director Guntur S Siboro as saying. Satelindo had previously used HSDPA technology giving a maximum 3.6Mbps/384kbps (downlink/uplink) connection.
