NRJ Mobile moves to Orange network

22 May 2008

French mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) NRJ Mobile has reportedly signed a contract to change its host network from SFR to Orange France, Thomson Financial reports. The MVNO, now a 90%-owned unit of French mutual bank Credit Mutuel-CIC following its acquisition last week of a further 40% stake from former owner NRJ Group, is the first French virtual operator to switch its host network. NRJ Mobile, which has yet to show its first profit, currently has around 750,000 subscribers and hopes to boost this to a million in the short term. No financial details of the new Orange contract were supplied.
