Following its takeover of rival cellco Orange Netherlands, T-Mobile has also acquired all of Orange’s contracts with Ericsson and a number of these will now be extended, writes Telecompaper. As a result of the deal, Ericsson will undertake an accelerated rollout of part of T-Mobile’s 3G/UMTS network and also assume responsibility for the acquisition and building of new cell sites in the country. The Swedish vendor will also be supplying an increasing number of radio links to T-Mobile to help with its network optimisation programme, and will also handle the take down of the Orange network.
