Israeli telco Bezeq has posted a 0.4% increase in first quarter revenues to NIS3.1 billion (USD918 million), with operating profit climbing 1.1% to NIS664 million. EBITDA slipped by 0.5% to NIS1.09 billion, while net profit for the three month period ended 31 March 2008 fell 0.3% to NIS 398 million. Capital expenditure in the first quarter was NIS305 million, 40.6% more than in the first quarter of 2007. Operationally, Bezeq claimed 970,000 ADSL subscribers at the end of March, each generating an average monthly ARPU of NIS58.1. Pelephone, the group’s wireless arm, reported 2.6 million customers at the end of the period, of which 867,000 were connected to its 3G network.
