Claro offering half-price video handsets

America Movil’s Puerto Rican subsidiary, Claro, has claimed a first on the island with the launch of 3G two-way videocalling, which it introduced on a commercial basis at the start of this month. To promote the new service, Claro is offering half-price 3G handsets from Motorola and Sony Ericsson until the end of this month, subject to signing a two-year contract including a USD49.99 unlimited monthly voice plan; a videocall package is offered for USD4.99 per month with 25 inclusive minutes (working out at USD0.20 per minute), and the cost per additional videocall minute is USD0.30).
