'Free' broadband for phone users

15 May 2008

Mobile operator Vodafone is offering free broadband internet access until the end of 2008 under a new initiative to gain market share in New Zealand’s fixed line market. Existing customers who sign up to one of three new combined fixed line phone and broadband plans, will get one gigabyte of data per month free until the end of the year. The Easy Pack, Ideal Pack and Ultimate Pack products combine fixed line rental and broadband with either 1GB, 5GB or 20GB of data, costing NZD70 (USD53.4), NZD80 and NZD90 a month, respectively. Until the end of the year the Easy Pack will cost NZD40 a month as broadband is free. The service will also be discounted for the rest of 2008 for new customers. A free modem and connection are also included in the deal.
