Lannet and Vivodi team up

14 May 2008

Greek alternative telco Lannet Communications has completed an agreement with fellow triple-play broadband provider Vivodi Telecom under which the latter will provide Lannet with full and partially unbundled local loop DSL/voice services and backhauling capacity. The agreement follows Lannet’s strategy of forming partnerships to expand its service range, with previous tie-ups including the development of an MPLS network with France Telecom and the leasing of Craig Wireless’ Greek WiMAX infrastructure. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Lannet’s range of services includes fixed line carrier selection telephony on a call-by-call and pre-selected basis, pre-paid calling cards, unbundled ADSL internet access over incumbent OTE’s last-mile network, SDSL connections to businesses over its own infrastructure, IPTV-over-DSL services in selected districts of Athens, wireless broadband access over a WiMAX network, and other services over its own national ATM backbone network.
