Entel PCS becomes Vodafone Partner

Vodafone has announced that Chilean cellco Entel PCS will become a Partner Network, bringing to 43 the number of such agreements the Newbury-based firm has sealed with other mobile operators around the world. Under the terms of the deal Vodafone will enable Entel PCS’s six million customers to roam onto the UK group’s global wireless network when outside their home country. The UK group also plans to supply Entel PCS with Vodafone branded handsets and wireless modems. Richard Buchi, president of Entel PCS, said: ‘We are very pleased to have agreed this alliance with Vodafone which will enable Entel PCS and our customers to become part of a global network, whilst still maintaining the advantages of being a local operator.’
