Nextel to spend ARS1.5 billion over next five years

According to local press reports cited by BNamericas, digital trunking operator Nextel Argentina plans to spend ARS1.5 billion (USD473 million) between now and the end of 2012. Investment will be mainly targeted towards expanding the company’s network in order to support traffic growth. ARS250 million will be spent in 2008, with the remainder staggered over the next four years. Nextel Argentina’s coverage includes capital Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area, Mar del Plata, the Atlantic coast, Rosario, Santa Fe, San Juan, San Luis, Mendoza and Cordoba.
