SaskTel posts revenue, profit gains

Saskatchewan-based full-service telco SaskTel has posted its full-year results for 2007, showing a CAD11.6 million (USD11.5 million) year-on-year gain in net profit to CAD84.1 million, on revenues that rose by CAD57.8 million to CAD1.07 billion. Mobile revenues increased by 15.8% on an annual basis to CAD301.3 million in 2007, as the company added 49,500 wireless customers to reach a total of 452,000. At year-end SaskTel had 206,000 internet access customers, up 7% from 2006, whilst it also reported 62,000 ‘Max’ IPTV customers, up from 51,000. Capital expenditures totalled CAD172.2 million in 2007, down CAD55.8 million from 2006. Since 1987, SaskTel says it has invested over CAD3.1 billion in infrastructure in Saskatchewan.
