Multimedia Polska: one million RGUs and counting

22 Apr 2008

Polish cableco Multimedia Polska has announced it has attained its goal of a million revenue generating units (RGUs). In the first three months of 2008, Multimedia Polska sold nearly 39,000 RGUs to take it past the million mark. ‘This large increase in sales has been driven mainly by the growing popularity of bundled services and the launch of video-on-demand and VoIP telephony as part of our offering,’ said Andrzej Rogowski, President of the Management Board of Multimedia Polska. At the end of the first quarter, Multimedia had nearly 230,000 broadband internet users, an increase of nearly 40% year on year. The number of subscribers using at least two services was 226,600, up 30%, while the number of triple-play subscribers stood at 51,300, an increase of over 40%. The company had over 181,000 fixed line telephony RGUs at the end of March, up 10% year-on-year.
