Free, neuf Cegetel to test interoperability of fibre-optic networks

22 Apr 2008

French alternative telecoms operators neuf Cegetel and Iliad (Free) plan to conduct joint tests on the interoperability of their fibre-optic networks in France with a view to sharing networks inside buildings, reports Thomson Financial citing neuf Cegetel’s general manager Michel Paulin. The move comes in the wake of ongoing disputes with the country’s former monopoly operator France Telecom (FT); both neuf Cegetel and Iliad (Free) have accused FT of not providing adequate access to buildings as part of the deployment of ultra high speed fibre-optic lines.
