Verizon submits application to offer FiOS TV

17 Apr 2008

Verizon Communications has filed an application to offer its Fiber Optic Service (FiOS) television service to customers in New York City. If it receives approval, it intends to begin offering the services later this year with plans to complete build out of the fibre-optic network by the second half of 2014. As reported by CommsUpdate on Monday, Verizon is currently suing competitor Time Warner Cable over an advertisement which claims Verizon’s FiOS is not available in New York. Verizon customers can currently get FiOS internet and phone service, but not TV.
