Shyam allocated 800MHz frequencies in eight circles

Shyam Telelink, a subsidiary of Russia’s Sistema, has announced that it has received 800MHz frequencies in eight Indian circles – Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh – from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). Together with the frequencies already obtained in Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and the North-East, Shyam will be able to start building a CDMA network in twelve circles, giving it coverage of around half of the territory of India. Shyam currently operates in Rajasthan only.
