Alca-Lu wins optical network deal in California

Alcatel-Lucent has been awarded a USD4.3 million optical networking contract by TelePacific Communications of California. The vendor is supplying its optical transport solution, including the 1665 DMX multiplexer, to expand TelePacific’s networks in central California. The project will help the telco enhance its portfolio of local and long-distance voice, dedicated internet access, private networking, and data transport services. TelePacific currently operates a 22,794 mile network in California and Nevada, with its 75,000 business customers taking around 980,000 access lines between them.
