Magyar Telekom still keen on Telekom Slovenije

7 Apr 2008

Hungarian telco Magyar Telekom is still interested in acquiring a stake in Telekom Slovenije, according to local press reports. Christopher Mattheisen, chairman and CEO of Magyar Telekom, said his company continues to look at foreign acquisitions, with the focus principally on the Balkan region. Telekom Slovenije was a recent take-over target for Magyar Telekom, although the Hungarian company failed to make it onto the final short list of bidders before the sale was halted in February. A new tender for Telekom Slovenije is expected to be announced later this year.
