Trilogy International Partners has announced the relaunch of its Dominican Republic subsidiary under the brand Viva. Trilogy acquired established network operator Centennial Dominicana in March 2007 and since then has restructured the operation, overlaid the legacy CDMA network with GSM technology and expanded its coverage footprint. ‘The Dominican Republic presents a strong growth opportunity for us. With the new Viva network, and a new pricing paradigm, we feel that we are the right company to provide additional services and choice to the market today,’ said Brad Horwitz, President and CEO of Trilogy International Partners. ‘Further, as the sole telecoms operator with pan-Hispaniola coverage, we are in the unique position to optimise operational and commercial synergies across the island.’ Trilogy operates in Haiti as Comcel and Bolivia as NuevaTel PCS.
