PalTel selects Nortel for VoIP solution

3 Apr 2008

Palestine Telecommunication Company (PalTel) has announced the launch of a reliable, high speed internet access and inexpensive international call service in the West Bank-Gaza Strip areas, using a Nortel carrier-class VoIP solution. The new services have been made possible through an agreement with Nortel to supply technology that supports international VoIP and hosted SIP services. The agreement also includes network maintenance from the Nortel Global Services portfolio and includes two Nortel Communication Server 2000 softswitches, located in London and Ramalah, with six Points of Presence (PoPs) in the United States and the Middle East where PalTel international calls are handed over to other operators.
