Irish alternative broadband provider Perlico, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vodafone Ireland, has launched a new bundled broadband package it claims significantly undercuts rival operators. The company says its new Freedom Bundle package includes unlimited local and long-distance calls, calls to mobile phones, international calls to more than 30 countries and a high speed broadband connection for EUR39.99 (USD63.18) per month, including line rental. Perlico claims the new offer could save customers switching from a rival such as eircom up to EUR500 in the first year. Commenting on the launch, Perlico’s head of marketing, Niamh McDonough, said: ‘We have listened closely to what customers want in this market and they constantly reference the price of calls to mobile phones and international destinations so we have packaged these elements in one unique bundle along with local and national calls, broadband and line rental.’
In a separate story, the broadband operator Digiweb says it has doubled the speed of most of its residential high speed internet packages. New and existing Digiweb subscribers to the company’s Metro Home service will see their connection speeds increase from 3Mbps to 6Mbps, while Metro Xtra subscribers will benefit from a doubling in speed from 5Mbps to 10Mbps.The entry-level Metro Value package will increase from 2Mbps to 3Mbps it said.
