Nokia wins subscriber data deal from Sprint

1 Apr 2008

The US wireless operator Sprint Nextel has selected Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to deploy a subscriber data management solution on the Sprint WiMAX wireless broadband network. NSN says the solution will enable Sprint to offer WiMAX customers a higher level of personalised broadband services. The solution, which includes the Apertio One-NDS (Network Directory Server), will allow Sprint to operate a Subscriber Profile System (SPS) based on a single, real-time common subscriber database, eliminating the inefficiencies of multiple databases and reducing administration and cost. Sprint plans to launch its Xohm-branded WiMAX network later this year.
