Chunghwa Telecom the incumbent Taiwanese fixed line, mobile, internet and data service provider has reported total revenue for 2007 of TWD200.9 billion (USD6.69 billion), up 7.8% from 2006; 31.2% of the total came from fixed line services, 36.7% from mobile and 24.5% from internet and data services (up 5.8% overall compared to 2006 with ADSL and FTTB up 5.2%). The remainder was attributed to handset sales and consolidation of TWD11.4 billion in revenue from SENAO (retailer of handsets and last-mile wireless solutions) beginning in the second quarter of 2007. EBITDA for 2007 increased by 5.2% year-on-year to TWD102.3 billion, resulting in an EBITDA margin of 50.9%, down from 52.2% for 2006. Net income for 2007 was TWD49.5 billion, an increase of 17.5%. CAPEX totalled TWD25.1 billion with the majority (76%) spent on fixed line, internet and data services.
Chunghwa had 4.25 million broadband subscribers at the end of 2007, up 5.3% on 2006. Mobile subscriber numbers stood at 8.70 million as of 31 December 2007, 2.29 million of whom were 3G users. Fixed line subscribers totalled 12.95 million at year end.
