Indonesian fixed telephony operator PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) has selected Alcatel-Lucent to provide it with a national Data Recovery Service (DRS) network connecting ten Indonesian cities. The telco hopes the installation of a resilient IP/MPLS-based network will ensure a high level of services, and facilitate administrative functions such as centralised billing. It is understood Alca-Lu will deploy its Alcatel-Lucent 7750 and 7710 Service Routers and 7450 Ethernet Service Switch to provide Telkom’s nationwide data centres connectivity via a single IP/MPLS-based network.
