Equity group completes EUR1.1bn Numericable, Completel investment

The private equity firm The Carlyle Group has announced the completion of a EUR1.1 billion (USD1.7 billion) investment in French telecoms operators YPSO/Numericable and Completel, reports Thomson Financial. Under the deal, Carlyle has purchased a 37.8% stake at an aggregate value of EUR6.5 billion from media and telecoms investment group Altice and the UK-based private equity fund Cinven. In a press statement Carlyle Group said the equity investment is the biggest ever undertaken by a single private equity firm in France.
