Atheeb inks deal with Motorola for WiMAX network

Motorola has announced that it has been awarded a contract by Etihand Atheeb Telecommunication Company for the deployment of a mobile WiMAX network based on the 802.16e standard. The deal has been valued at USD165 million. Atheeb, which received its WiMAX licence in 2007, is 15%-owned by Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco).
