Rostelcom’s network connects to Interoute’s pan European NGN

20 Mar 2008

A new high speed ring channel named Transit Europe-Asia (TEA) has connected Interoute’s points of presence in Frankfurt, Stockholm and London to Rostelecom’s network. The majority of traffic between Europe and Asia is currently routed via the US, but it is expected the new connection will increase the portion of Europe-Asia traffic sent via the Trans-Siberian route to one-fifth of the total within the next four years. The new connection should also cut the delay on routes between Europe and Asia by up to 50%.
