France Telecom (FT) has signed a frame agreement under which it has agreed to supply up to 800,000 French homes with fibre-optic connections, Thomson Financial reports. Under the draft deal, FT will install FTTx lines in properties belonging to members of the ARC association of co-ownership building management groups. No financial details were disclosed.
In a separate announcement, FT reiterated yesterday that it expects its internet access and traditional voice telephony businesses to post a ‘stable performance’ in its current fiscal year. ‘There is no change in our 2008 group objectives,’ the incumbent said in a statement issued amid declines in some European telecom stocks.
