SingTel launches global maritime satellite broadband

Southeast Asia’s largest telecoms company by revenues, Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), today launched a maritime satellite broadband service, offering mariners secure connectivity with their land-based offices, Thomson Financial reports. The new service will cover all major shipping routes providing a secure private network for commercially sensitive shipboard and data applications such as e-mail, says SingTel executive vice president for business Bill Chang.
