Russia’s two largest cellular operators by subscribers, Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) and Vimpelcom, have completed the rollout of their long-distance networks which have been deployed to help reduce line rental costs. The networks are still awaiting approval by communications regulators, Vedemosti reports. The country’s third-placed cellco, MegaFon, has already deployed its own long-distance network and says this has helped boost its operating margin by two percentage points.
