Oman’s second largest cellco by subscribers, Nawras Telecom, has announced that it has passed the one million subscriber mark, corresponding to a 40% share of the market. COO Khalid Al Mahmoud revealed that the total number of customers currently stands at 1.1 million, including 500,000 new connections in the last twelve months. He went on to say that OMR175 million (USD455 million) has been invested in the last three years, before pledging a further OMR100 million in 2008 for the launch of 3G services and 2G network expansion.
