AT&T looking to buy a stake in Datacom

US based AT&T is reportedly looking for a stake in cellco Datacom, reports news site Business Standard. The cellco, which has recently been issued a mobile services licence, is a subsidiary of Videocon and has announced an investment of INR60 billion (USD1.4 billion) for its planned pan-Indian network. The planned network is currently awaiting allocation of spectrum, for which Datacom is first in line to get frequency for 19 circles excluding Delhi and Mumbai.
