The Paraguayan cellular operator Nucleo (Telecom Personal) has chosen Ericsson to supply a W-CDMA/HSDPA network. The Swedish firm will be the sole supplier of 3G and 3.5G radio and IP core network equipment under the one-year frame agreement. The deal also includes a range of professional services, such as network design, network deployment and systems integration, network review and knowledge transfer, Ericsson says. Deployments have already started. The financial terms were not disclosed. Nucleo said last week that it expects to launch its first high speed wireless services in the capital, Asuncion, shortly, with other major cities to be covered by the end of the year.
