12 Mar 2008

Greek incumbent telco OTE has selected Ericsson to supply, implement and integrate an IPTV system, under a contract that also involves business consultancy work. The Swedish vendor will deploy headend systems from Tandberg Television, part of the Ericsson group, a middleware application, content distribution platform and a customised consumer portal. The IPTV solution will enable OTE to offer new services to its residential broadband customers, including a wide range of broadcast TV channels, video-on-demand (VoD), on-screen programme guide and personal programme recorder capabilities.
