Orascom reports 2007 results

Cairo-based telecoms group Orascom Telecom Holding has announced its full year 2007 results, which show a 22% increase in revenues year-on-year to USD4.72 billion. EBITDA for the twelve months ended 31 December 2007 climbed 20% to USD2.043 billion while net income jumped 180% to USD2.021 billion. Operationally, Orascom added over 20 million subscribers to its six subsidiaries during the year to take its total base to 70 million. Banglalink of Bangladesh reported the highest percentage increase in subscribers, at 116%, to take its total to 7.08 million, followed by Mobilnil (Egypt, up 63% to 15.12 million), Telecel (Zimbabwe, up 63% to 241,874), Mobilink (Pakistan up 36% to 30.61 million), Djezzy (Algeria, up 27% to 13.38 million) and Tunisiana (Tunisia, up 19% to 3.65 million).
