Paraguayan mobile operator Nucleo (Telecom Personal Paraguay) says it is preparing to launch its first 3G and 3.5G services in the capital, Asuncion, over the next few days. Nucleo, which is owned by Telecom Argentina, has already deployed its W-CDMA/HSDPA network in the city, BNamericas reports citing local newspaper La Nacion. It expects to have nationwide coverage by the end of the year, though networks are likely to be rolled out only in major population centres. Nucleo had 1.6 million subscribers at the end of 2007, up 40% from a year earlier.
