neuf Cegetel to sign fibre deal with YPSO/Numericable

12 Mar 2008

French alternative operator neuf Cegetel hopes to supply around 140,000 households with a fibre-optic connection following an agreement with domestic cable operator YPSO/Numericable. Thomson Financial cites a separate Agence France-Presse report from the cableco saying that the agreement also gives it access to neuf Cegetel’s own fibre network. neuf Cegetel is France’s second largest fixed line operator and is in the throes of being acquired by SFR, the French telecoms group, in which Vivendi Universal is the main shareholder, along with Vodafone.
