5 Mar 2008

US-based telco AT&T has announced plans to invest USD1 billion in 2008 on a global expansion of its networks and services. The amount does not include investments in its domestic market, with the bulk of the funds going towards the construction of a new undersea fibre-optic link in Asia and an Ethernet network in Europe and Asia. AT&T spent USD750 million outside the US in 2007, taking its total overseas investments to USD18 billion.
